Virginia & DC Visit...

We decided to do a last minute two week visit to Virginia/DC for the holiday break to visit my parents & sister..

Since Sailor was going to miss a week of school we decided to throw in as much culture as possible.

We started our week with a visit to the Smithsonian Natural History Museum. Made popular in the film, "Night at the Museum II"

We took the Metro naturally and it was pouring that day. We got soaked on our short trek from the Metro stop to the museum entrance...

There was no tables for eating our lunch because of all the people so we parked it on the ground...

The next day we headed to the National Portrait Gallery.

The museum had a great kids interactive area and they were doing a kids reproduction of this famous picture of Lincoln.

Thanks for coming to visit. We enjoyed it so much! Can we make it an annual event?
