tricks & treats...

For Halloween this year Sailor wanted to be a witch (but not an ugly witch!) and Hobie insisted on being a pirate. I happened to be at Target the day they brought out all the costumes and snatched a little pirate up right away. Smartest decision I made. Not only would I have spent twice as much $$ (not to mention time) making the costume, but I would have been so mad at him Halloween night as parts of the costume kept coming off and he ended up looking more like a hobo. I made the skirt portion of Sailor's costume...at 9pm the night before Halloween. I told Vanz I think I work better under pressure. Or I may be lazy. Here are my little goblins in all their glory (or should I say...gory!!! get it?)

We started the Halloween week was some family pumpkin carving...or as we like to call it, pumpkin seed gathering because in our house that is what we all really care about.

The fruits of our labor...

Sailor wanted to be a glamourous, yet scary witch. The time I didn't use wisely in costume making I made up for in glamour. She was one fancy witch. I'm not going to deny the fact that she was made up fabulously!

I mean look at those lashes and sparkle. We went all out.

Her skirt was a ballet style witch tutu with lots of sparkle, spiderwebs and tulle.

her look was spooktacular...

My dear sweet Hobie had a fancy pirate wig, pirate belt, eye patch, pirate rings, and special pirate teeth...all of which he decided he did not want to wear. Half the night he spent having his pirate hat backwards and I carried his pirate sword for him. His focus was spent getting candy.

This is the best I could do for getting a picture of his costume.

As you can see he was not really into getting his picture taken like his sister is...

After trick or treating the candy high hit....

And I want to give a special shout out to those people who pass out Almond Joys for Halloween. We got a million of them and I don't know any kids who like them, but I do and gladly ate all of them. So thanks for the extra lbs. this week!

Until next year...
