where do I begin...

I am seriously failing at blogging lately. Or so I've been reminded. I have plenty to blog about and I think since I have summer posts yet to blog, I've just given up. I may add them at a later date, but I'll try and catch us up to the present.

First and foremost the main reason for my disappearance in the blogging world directly coincides with my joining of the Pinterest world a few months back. It was my sudden downfall. Trust me...stay away if you value your time.

So here is a Reader's Digest version recap....

Sailor is a busy second grader who love, love, loves her teacher. And second grade. And suddenly, kickball of all things. I am having to reinvest in a school wardrobe that includes pants, because no proper lady can play kickball with a dress. Or so I'm told.

She is busy doing dance 4x a week. So we are all busy doing dance 4x a week. Just until Nutcracker season is done. This year she gets to be a soldier. She also volunteered to be a 3rd year Angel, so we are doing double duty. Hooray??

She has developed some serious sass. (apropos that her initials are SAS I guess). Remember all those times Mom, when you thought, "someday you'll get yours"? The time is now and probably for the next 10 years. I hope we both live through it.

She turned 8 with very little fan-fare. We've promised her a party, but when your 8th birthday falls on the first day of school and/or Labor Day or the day after your Dad's, you have to re-assign the birthday party to another month. Maybe November...maybe if I'm really lucky...March.

She was baptized with lots of fan-fare...another reason for the birthday delay (post & pics forthcoming)...

She also is a TV star (in her own mind). She got to be on TV twice this month. So what if one was our local access channel. TV is TV, right? The other maybe much more prominent. We will keep you posted, but here is a sneak peak of her getting fancied.

It was real honest to goodness acting with lines and everything. Those theater camps & classes are starting to pay for themselves (not really). Vanz thinks we should get her an agent. I take that with a grain of salt, because he also thinks that he should be able to sleep floating in an underwater chamber like Luke Skywalker. Both fantastic ideas, but maybe not so practical.

Hobie is a talking, running, climbing, all boy machine. He's completely potty trained which is great when I don't have to buy diapers at Costco, not so great when I am driving.

He's obsessed with his stuffed Monkey, "Monk", has an imaginary friend named Barney and loves trains, surfboards, skateboards and drums.

He loves to ask me at the end of the evening, "how your day is Mommy?"

He constantly has dirt under his nails and a car in his hand. Everywhere we go a Matchbox car (or 5) accompanies us.

Vanz is busy doing really amazing things. I wish I could gush more, but trust. It's good stuff.

Hope that is a nice little recap..I promise to not go another whole month without a post...
(probably)..
