school's out...

Remember me? I decided I have to finish up my June postings before August starts, therefore you may see quite a few posts in the next day or two.

I will start with the end of school. Sailor had a great school year. I think First Grade has been the best yet. She had two* teachers this year. She loved them and I am pretty sure the feeling was mutual. Sailor is always a joy to have around and a fantastic student. She ended the year with a perfect report card. Now we just have our fingers crossed that the love for school will continue year after year.

*actually three...one of her teachers had a baby mid year and our neighbor was the long term sub for a few months.

Her class also got to be on television. One of her teachers sadly has advanced stages of lung cancer. She got to be on a Discovery channel special featuring different forms of cancers and treatments. Because of that they came and filmed a segment with her at school with her class.

At the end of the year all the first grade classes had a day at the park. Hobie got to come and play with all the kids and I don't know who it was more fun for him, or them (or me). They followed him around the entire park. He thought it was amazing. He would run all over and they would just trail him for attention.
