Catalina Island..

Our family decided that we would spend spring break sailing to Catalina and staying on the boat. I didn't give my children nautical names for nothing...they needed to earn those names!

Our transportation/accommodations. Good ol' CTS. (or SCT if you asked Hobie)
We LOVE this boat.

Our fearless leader-Captain Vanz

Getting ready to set sail. Hobie was practicing his First Mate skills.

Sailor doing her best to stay cozy on the open sea.

Hobie too!

Helping Dad get the BBQ ready for our delicious feast.

Getting ready to head to the beach. Hobie got really sick while we were there (of course) with Roseola. So I sent the healthy ones off the boat to play while Hobie caught up on some much needed rest.

Heading onshore the first night to get dinner and Olaf's ice cream.

Photobucket
Sailor practicing her fishing skills. Turns out she is a natural.

She must have caught 25 of these (they all got released back into the water).

Proof that I went too!

The only person brave enough to attempt the water temps on purpose. One of us (not Vanz, Holly or Hobie) fell in on accident...fully clothed.

What I didn't get pictures of-
All the ocean life we saw!! Dolphins, sea lions...a whale! My kids were in heaven!
And we went to the Casino turned movie theater to see Rio. They had an actual organist in the theater playing while we were waiting. It was so much fun!

Until our next trip...which we are already planning!!

Looks like a great "nautical" vacation, but wait, don't ALL your vacations require a large body of water?
