Art Patrons...

One of the things I love about Vanz is his insistence that our family appreciates the arts. We took our kids to LACMA and signed them up to be members. They were doing a special family art day and had displays and art projects set up that the kids could work on. Afterward we toured some of the exhibitions they had and also visited the La Brea Tar Pits. We loved it and are anxiously looking forward to the Tim Burton art exhibition they have coming later this month.

My budding fashionista. She styled her own outfit and accessories. And yes, those are harem pants.

Sailor at the coloring station. They also had a station where she made a clay animal and a diptych station. She did all of them, but I somehow neglected to get a photo of either.

I love this girl! She brought her journal to take notes of her favorite pieces of art. She loved all the french artists (goes without saying, right?) She made notes of the paintings she saw from Monet, Renoir, Matisse, Degas and Cezanne. Phew. She is also a fan of Georgia O' Keefe (thanks to Meet the Masters at school). They do have one O'Keefe, but we didn't make it over to see it. Another reason to return I guess!

We had to stop by the Modern Art exhibit. It was amazing. Here Vanz is explaining to Sailor why this qualifies as art. Hobie took a stroller nap during this part of the trip.

Sailor loved the Jeff Koons exhibit. Both impressive and disturbing. We only had to shield her eyes once.

Sailor, you are just too stylish! I love the outfit, especially the hat. Only Sailor would take a little journal with her to the art museum to jot down her favorite artists and displays.
