party...
Hobie still hasn't age qualified for a "real" birthday party. So we decided to celebrate with just our family. He doesn't know any different right?
We did what every good parent does for their child and took him to the fanciest place we could think of.
Chuck E. Cheese.
It took every once of sanity I had to step into that place on a Saturday. Luckily for me I had lots of medicinal help (more on that below) to dull the pain. The kids loved it though. I guess that was all that mattered. Who cares that we all got sick afterward.

Driving in the car with "sister"
"Get me the H off this thing" face
We had at least enough class to choose another establishment to eat. So we picked a fancy restaurant called Subway.
Only the best for our kids!!
We went back to the house for some delicious Hobie requested chocolate "Surfboard Cupcakes" made perfectly by my friend Alicia. How amazing do these look?
We stuffed our faces and shared the rest with his nursery friends the next day and his bff Connor and family (per Hobie's specific request).
Earlier that week I threw my back out. Like old person, cannot get out of bed for three days, have to wear a back brace out. Just in case my kids ever say I never do anything for them, I wanted proof that I was there for all of it...and I can only say that the look on my face is thanks to left over c-section meds (yes they were two years old...don't judge)
Digging into the cupcakes!
I think it's safe to say he liked them.
Some of the loot (which I made Sailor wrap by the way because of my invalid state)
One of his favorite gifts...a shopping cart to push around!
But his all time favorite gift-
A SKATEBOARD!
He's even already taken it on a big kid skate ramp.
And he still sleeps with it every night.
p.s. this was the LAST night he got a pacifier!
