Hawaii 2011
Let's just get this out of the way....
I am currently blond. No feedback necessary.
Our first day on the Big Island was spent doing a circle island tour. One of the first stops was the volcano. It was ready to erupt anytime so part of the road was closed off. There was lots of vog (volcanic fog) as you can see.
For my mom...
This was the opening of huge lava tubes formed from the volcano underground.
The weather near the volcano was very wet.
Not at all alarming.
Next we went on a small hike in a beautiful tropical rainforest...
and look what we found!
Another day we went and paid a visit to the Kona Temple.
We also found some whales!
Wasn't sure how my hair would handle the surf and sun, but still blond..
We made lots of friends with sea turtles. They were all over the beach.
Sunbathing..
Parts of the island are miles and miles of lava. It looks like you are on the moon.
We spent another day exploring and hiking .

Hanging out on the black sand beach.
This was our favorite spot at the resort. It was a comfortable big round lounger. I could have sat there for hours and hours watching the sunset.

Sure looks like you had a great time. Truthfully, even as exhausted as your Dad was and happy to be home, he had a good time too! Hobie had fun hanging out with Grandpa. Still not sure about the blonde hair, hmmm. . . but I'm gradually getting used to it.

thanks for adding the USGS logo from the volcano site. We call it the "pick & hammer". Too cool! We are EVERYWHERE!
I think you can totally pull the blonde off - looks great!! I am currently working my way back to blonde (per request of Jonathan-ha). How did you get it blonde so quickly?? Just do color all over?? My hair chick is taking forever!!

Love the blonde. I am working on getting blond but it takes a while when u are dakr dark dark! 16 more weeks and should be a sandy blonde. Yeah. Glad you had fun!
