Party...
I need to start this post by saying that I am not a fan of 1st Birthday bashes. My philosophy is that my barely one year old will not have a single recollection of his/her first birthday. Lucky for me my better half feels the same way. So, we invite only the people who physically reside in the same house as the one year old. To be quite honest, the person who was most excited about Hobie's birthday was Sailor. Personally, I think she just wanted an excuse to have cake.
Here is the Bday boy with Sailor. Please note the tooth literally hanging by a thread. I've had to look at that for two weeks. Lucky for me, it fell out the next morning.
Sailor had a ballet class that evening and I am pretty sure Hobie had been hoping all day for sushi so we treated him to our favorite local sushi joint which just happens to be right next to the ballet studio.
Me and my best little guy pre-festivities. He is not quite sure what to make of all the fuss.
The Vons $13.99 special.
Only the best.
About 3/4 of that cake was pure frosting.
Hobie is very meticulous. He started by carefully removing the candle for inspection prior to digging in.
A little poking and further inspection...
Trying to pick up the frosting balloon...
Finally digging in.
Sort of.
Hobie and Daddy. I have no idea what was going on here.
Maybe a stare-off?
This was as dirty as things got.
Maybe sweets are not his thing?
And everyone was happy...
until someone (me) made him wear the birthday crown.
And I could not resist posting the Sailor 1st b-day post cake pose.
She pooped frosting for a good two days.

The best part of this post is Sailor's chubby legs in her baby picture. And you, my friend, are looking mighty fine. One hot mama.
And where the crap did this year go? He is beyond adorable. So fun.
These pictures are so fun! I love the picture of snaggle tooth. It's a wonder she didn't swallow her tooth. Hobie looks just like a little boy, no longer the baby. So, he's not into hats? What's with the purchased birthday cake, Miss Gourmet Cook extraordinaire.
First off- Sailor's smile in the first picture is amazing- then her chubbiness in the last one! I totally remember those legs and wrists. Very cute. Happy birthday to Hobie. He is so cute! Can't believe he is one.
My gosh. I can't get over his thighs in the photo with Sailor. He is too cute.
Happy Birthday Hobie!!!
