Exactly one year ago our lives were changed when a very small baby boy joined our family.

I have been dreading and hoping for this day for what seems like forever. It is no secret that our sweet Hobart was a very difficult newborn. He had a horrible case of colic and while there are things far worse, he challenged me in a way that I was not acustomed to.

Those first three and a half months of his life were some of my most difficult. I wouldn't however, trade them for anything.

I had a feeling that my experience with Hobie would be vastly different than Sailor. For obvious reasons like the fact he was a boy, but even during the pregnancy I knew our little guy was determined to do things his own way.

During those first months when I would feel myself letting the situation get the best of me, I would quickly remind myself that this time with my sweet newborn would pass far too quickly and I would miss even the constant crying. And it did.

Overnight I went from having a small 6 lb. baby boy to having a toddler. And while I love his newfound curious nature and independence, he will forever be my baby.

My heart overflows with gratitude when I think of the many blessings he has brought to our family.
