Viva Las Paris..

It delights us to no end to make our little ones happy. With Sailor's Paris obsession, I could not imagine going to Las Vegas and not letting her see the Paris hotel. We looked into actually staying there, but unfortunately so did everyone else and it was sold out. We ended up at New York, New York thanks to some "name your price" website negotiations. When Vanz found out that was the hotel he ended up with, he definitely felt like he overbid. So, in a nutshell...it was not our first choice, but they ended up upgrading us and also gave us a room with an amazing view of the strip and all the lights, so the kids thought is was great and Vanz & I were so tired we could have cared less.

As I mentioned earlier, it was Christmas. Nothing celebrates the birth of our Lord and Savior like Las Vegas evidently. It was PACKED. I mean ridiculous amounts of people everywhere and I think we had the only two children on the entire strip. We walked down to the Paris for Sailor to be with her "people." She was in heaven. I was in hell. I didn't even tell her that she could actually go up the eiffel tower there. For one the line was too long and another the smoke was killing my sinuses. Hobie was pretty fascinated by all the lights but that was short lived. We were all tired and starving (and if you read the previous post, you know how well that ended up). We told Sailor she could pick a souvenir (how ironic..a french word) from the hotel.

Lucky for us we found the most delightful French children's shop for her to browse. It was a match made in French heaven since she already owned nearly every book displayed. She picked a few gifts for herself (a french poodle limoge, a paris snow globe and an eiffel tower handheld game which Hobie broke within 30 minutes).

Thanks Vegas for having one redeeming thing to offer us.

We had a similar experience on the strip at Christmas with two hungry kids...but we were trying to get to Treasure Island to see the pirate show. I was NUTS!
