bonjour
I know I've mentioned more than a few times (like here and here) that Sailor is 100% convinced that she should be French. This whole French thing is evidently not just a phase, but apparently a way of life. This was the summer of all things french for Sailor. For example....
We obviously could not visit Washington D.C. without making a stop at the closest thing to France without actually being in France.
On a visit to Anthropologie, I picked up a copy of this beloved book. Notice the colors that Sailor is wearing. They are the colors of the French flag (not the US flag as you would probably assume). She also accessorized with an Eiffel Tower necklace as well as a sticker of a beret wearing dog.
Sailor also made a french best friend, Elodie. She was visiting Huntington Beach this summer and I am pretty sure Sailor thought she came just for her. Sailor invited her (and Mallory & Madison) to swim and she was kind enough to read Sailor's Paris book to her with her lovely french accent.
Here is Sailor with Elodie the night before she left. Sailor cried when she went back home to France, but she is excited to write to her and mail a letter to her very first friend in France!
My french girlie in her french outfit.
When she turns 18 I have promised her that I will take her on a grand tour of Paris. How could I not? Maybe Aunt Amélie will come with us.
(although she's already seen most of the city practically in person thanks to google earth)

Maybe grandmere can go too? I love all things french.
Really? You love ALL things french? Because I could SWEAR that when I tried to take a french class you said no.
Geez, when are you going to let that go? Wasn't that in 7th grade? I do remember that I tried to insist that you take tennis lessons and you thought it would be a waste and boring. So, does that make us even?
