Jinxed
We openly admit that giving your children themed names is risky.
With Sailor we really hit the nail on the head because that kid love, love, loves water. She loves being on the sailboat, she loves the ocean, and she could live in the pool 24-7 if it were possible.
With Hobie, we also took a risk by giving him a name that was also synonymous with water. Not only, sailing but surfing as well. We could only be so lucky that he too would love the water as much as his sister,(and daddy) right? WRONG!
This kid hates water. We were so excited to finally give him his first bath (he really hated the sponge bath, but we figured a "real" bath would be different). Not a chance. He screamed the entire bath.
I'm not going to lie...Vanz is a little worried about our Hobie. Does he not realize that his whole comfortable lifestyle is based on water? We may have to run his family legacy by him again. Sailor just kept saying, "what about the pool?" I think she is worried his dislike of water will prevent her from being in the water.
Well, like it or not this little one will not be happy when a few months from now he will be taking watersafe swimming lessons just like his sister had to. For crying out loud, I sat in the spa my whole pregnancy (set at a safe 98 degrees!) You would think he'd be used to the water!
Sorry sweet baby. Loving the water is a family requirement.

update: while his second bath had tears, it wasn't nearly as traumatic as the first. Maybe he'll start to come around by bath 10?

I know it may be different when you're there but Hobie is still adorable screaming. Seriously- already a babe. :)
Maybe it's a boy thing because James was the same way when he was born and he is a fish now. It probably was bath 5 or 6 before he wouldn't scream!
