THANKS AND SUCH...
I always admire all the wonderful posts where people list all the things they are grateful for around the holiday season. Since I did not even take one photo during that time I will avoid the "I am thankful post" all together, plus you would judge me when I put that I am grateful for my car.
I will tell you however, that Vanz & I dropped Miss Sailor off to Grandma Wednesday morning and had the most relaxing two days! I am indeed grateful for that. We went to lunch, surfed (Vanz) went to see Australia (the movie),*
went to 11pm dinner at Harbor House and slept in. We got up Thursday, surfed (Vanz), ate bagels, took naps, went to lunch, went to another movie (Twilight)*
and finally made our way up to Thanksgiving dinner late in the afternoon. I don't know that I can officially say it is my favorite Thanksgiving ever, but it sure rates pretty high.
*Australia was one movie Vanz & I were so looking forward to seeing for several reasons; first Vanz served his mission in Australia and I am not joking when I tell you that there is a good chance he will move our family there one day. Plus we love Baz Luhrmann. Moulin Rouge is one of our favorite movies ever. We were so disappointed. Not only was it long, but not good. I have heard people say it was great, but I don't know which Australia movie they were watching. Also, I was really distracted by Nicole Kidman's lips the entire movie. I will say though that the aboriginal kid was sure cute.
*Twilight (sigh). First off...don't judge my husband! I had already seen it opening weekend and so while we waited for the aforementioned Australia I made him sneak in for about 15 minutes of Twilight. It was right during the "say it...out loud" scene. Vanz was intrigued and said he wanted to see "what all the hype was about", so the next day we went back for him to see the whole movie. Of course I liked it even better the second time, but he really liked it too. He still will never read the book though. And don't judge me when I go see it a third time this week while Sailor is at school (Emily).
