BRAVO!!!
This weekend was Sailor's final Nutcracker performance. She was so sad for it to be over with. She loves performing. Seriously..like you would not believe.
In the dressing room with the other mice waiting for the show to begin (playing Go Fish).
Getting her final mouse face on.
All the Mice in her cast and their saint of a ballet teacher Miss Lindsay (She is so good that I have even taken ballet classes from her!)
Our little Mouse has been taking ballet since she was about 2 and a half and I had no idea how much she would enjoy it. She watches the older ballerinas and gets so excited for the day when she gets to be "en pointe." She has made quite a name for herself around the studio and loves to visit with with older ballerinas and tell them how pretty they look and what wonderful dancers they are.
Here is Sailor with the ballerina who played one of the Clara's. You'll notice her Mouse King nutcracker as well which is her most prized possession since the show.
One ballerina she took quite a fondness for was Miss Randi who danced the part of the Sugar Plum Fairy. You may recognize her from this picture where Sailor is longing gazing at her tutu from our earlier rehearsals:
Sailor watched her dance in the Saturday performance and was captivated. We went backstage and took photos with her after the show and Sailor was in love like I have never seen. We found out that the Sunday show was her final Nutcracker performance ever. We had to stay and watch after Sailor's performance. Sailor sat and yelled out "GREAT JOB MISS RANDI" every time she appeared on stage. When the show was over and they took the final curtain call. Sailor welled up with tears and said, " I am so sad. No one dances as well as Miss Randi." We went backstage again, so that Sailor could tell Miss Randi how much she loved her and would miss her dancing in the show. She then sobbed the entire way home. Sailor no longer aspires to be Clara. She wants to be the Sugar Plum Fairy so that she can dance as well as Miss Randi.
Sailor with her beloved Sugar Plum Fairy
Now she starts working on her ballet routine for the June recital, so until next Christmas...
Squeak squeak...

Is it too early to fill out an application for the OC Performing Arts High School? Hmmm, drama or dance? She is a lovely mouse. When I asked her if she danced like a lovely ballerina she told me "No, I danced mousey."
I love your blog, so well designed! And your little mouse is pretty adorable too...
