MOSQUITOES!!!

We have been attacked. The summer of 07' will be remembered by us as the year the mosquitoes attacked our family.

One of the things we love about living at the beach is that it is generally always pleasant. We open the french doors, look at the pool, let the breeze in and life is good.

We noticed a few weeks ago that Sailor was waking up with welts on her body. I instantly thought mosquitoes, but we had never had them that bad so we assumed maybe something else attacked her in her sleep. We stripped the bed looking for the "culprit." Eventually, all of us ended up with the welts. It was so bad that I overheard a Mom tell her little boy, "look, that little girl has chicken pocks" referring to Sailor. A few days later I saw an article in the OC Register about mosquitoes attacking in HB! I was horrified and relieved at the same time knowing at least we weren't alone.

We have stocked up on repellent which we apply nightly (the little buggers get in the house even if the doors are closed!) and our home now smells of citronella candles. I thought we were as safe as possible, however on Sunday sitting in church Vanz and Sailor looks at me horrified as they told me I had a mosquito on my face! They even got to us at church!
